Somewhere in the last week or so something clicked in my head. Some little a-ha moment. I think it’s the new end table. It has zen like room clearing powers. I’m sure of it.

Well, that and the serious progress I made on the side garden in roughly 3 weeks.
So what I’m saying is, I was inspired to unfuck my living space.
Saturday I Pinterested myself silly and happened upon this. Oh, and this version. Okay, I can do that.
And I want to do that because I really like it – and… all this needs a home.

…and this

All night I researched tools & materials convincing myself I was going to Home Depot first thing in the morning. Meh. It kinda happened that way.
Sunday… oh, it’s 11:00am, I should go see what I actually have in the basement. Ok, it was probably earlier because Sunday turned out to be like christmas morning and the house basement gave me all kinds of gifts that made me giddy. For one, I found 4 brand new garden hooks to go hang something cool (or scary) out in my newly planted garden. Then I gathered an array of unused materials that I later returned to Home Depot for a healthy sized store credit… also known as my power tool fund.
As it turns out #FTW, I have most of the tools & all of the necessary lumber for this piece just sitting & taking up space in my basement. I only had to buy a 3/4in Countersink drill bit.
When I got home, broke out with my friend’s Skilsaw and made all of my cuts for the legs and even got to start on the supports before I had to high-tail it out to my mom’s.

Now while I am grateful the saw is here, OMFG it terrorizes me and I really want a lighter cordless one. (This one to be exact.)
I am banking on this to be a gateway project.
